Jesus And Me (J.A.M.) is an annual youth activity that KW hosts for the surrounding youth. Click to find out more information about J.A.M.

The youth group at KW has monthly devotionals designed to encourage and edify the youth and to allow them to bring their friends to a relaxed environment where they can meet positive Christian influences their age and be encouraged by God’s word.

Gulf Coast Bible Camp is a place for youth to spend a week of their summer completely disengaged from the constant distraction of electronic devices and fully engage them with Christ. Click here to view their website to find out more information:

The Southern Christian Student Center (SCSC) is a campus organization sponsored by Kensington Woods church of Christ. Their purpose is to serve the University of Southern Mississippi, the City of Hattiesburg, and surrounding areas by providing students with an environment to foster spiritual growth, leadership, and Christian attitudes while attending college. The SCSC has many events throughout the fall and spring  semesters, such as Monday Night Student Suppers, Bible studies, prayer groups, fall and spring retreats, tailgating and attending sporting events, service projects, and other extracurricular activities. If you would like to find out more information, please visit their website:

Bible Class

KW has a Bible class for college students on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. at the KW building.

The SCSC has fall and spring retreats; a retreat is a weekend for students to refocus their lives on Christ in the midst of continuous pressure to focus on school and allow students to grow and strengthen relationships with other students. There are many opportunities for students to serve others at the SCSC. They regularly visit widows in nursing homes and individuals who are unable to leave their houses to attend services, volunteer at Southern Miss Move-In Day, as well as seizing the opportunity when it is presented.

Marriage Retreat

The Marriage Retreat is an annual event that KW sponsors where God’s intentions of marriage are the focus. If you value your marriage, this is the event for you! It is a retreat designed to strengthen and grow your Christian marriage through classes and quality time with your spouse and members.

Men’s & Ladies’ Retreats

These are also annual events that Kensington Woods sponsors. Our Men’s Retreat is designed to help our men grow to be better leaders in the church, family, and community. Likewise, our Ladies’ Retreat is focused on helping women of all ages to grow closer together and closer to Christ.

Small Groups & Care Groups

The intent of Small Groups is for members to create a welcoming environment for everyone, including  guests, by hosting in-home get-togethers to build relationships among each other. This group is great for new members or members looking to get involved outside of church services and can be used as a great evangelistic tool. There are small groups to accommodate all adult age groups. These serve as a way for us to Connect and Grow to better enable us to serve Christ better.

We desire for no member or visitor to go unnoticed; we offer Care Groups within the KW family to ensure that every member remains active. Care Groups are designed to be an avenue for communicating and supporting one another regularly. This consists of a text, phone call, card, et cetera.

WInGS stands for  Women In God’s Service. The purpose of this ministry is to ensure areas of work for the church are accomplished by involving women in works drawing them closer together.  There are numerous opportunities to serve in these various capacities: bridal/baby showers, ladies’ nights out, secret sisters, baptismal care, kitchen supply room, bulletin boards, ladies’ day, special events, transportation to ladies functions, welcome committee, teachers’ resource room, clothing drive, and nursery.  Each year our ladies host a ladies’ day in which women from the area are invited to come and study God’s Word together. WInGS is a fantastic ministry!

Bibles Classes & Home bible studies

We offer opportunities for members and visitors to have an in-depth look at the Bible in an environment that encourages discussion and is led by members who are mature in their walk with Christ. There are also opportunities to participate in-home Bible studies, where anyone can learn about the Bible and how to spread the gospel.

Service Projects

KW has regularly scheduled service projects, such as a clothing drive, visiting widows and shut-in individuals, and assisting those who are less fortunate. Unfortunately, natural disasters have affected the Greater Hattiesburg area over the past decade, so we help in recovery and rebuilding efforts both materialistically and spiritually in any way possible.
